Make me a life

Make me a cup of coffee
Make it strong
Serve it black, unsullied by decadence.

Make me a cake
Make it white
Serve it with buttercream and candied violets.

Make me a home
Make it warm
Serve it with friends and a calico cat.

Make me a life
Make it long
Serve it with joy, mirth and impermanence.

  1. LeeAnn, that was awesome! It was short, sweet, and better than most poetry I've read. I'm not crazy about poetry usually because of the layers and layers of meanings. This was great because it was just perfect!

  2. Thanks Linda. I'm not a fan of extremely complex poetry either - makes me feel like the poet is just trying too hard. Glad you enjoyed it.
